"A meaty lasagna, sure to be a family favorite."
Ingredients:
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb Italian sausage, casing removed
2 jars Grandpa Pete's Sunday Sauce (Marinara, Garlic, or Meat... your choice!)
2 eggs
2, 15oz containers ricotta cheese
2 cups shredded mozzarella, divided
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp parsley flakes
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
9 lasagna noodles
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Brown ground beef and sausage in large skillet on medium heat; stir occasionally. Drain fat. Stir in 4 cups of sauce.
Beat eggs in large bowl. Add ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella, garlic powder, parsley, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
In a 13x9-inch baking dish, spread 1 cup of meat and sauce mixture on the bottom. Top with 3 noodles. Spread half the cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat meat sauce, noodles, and cheese layer. Layer remaining noodles and top with sauce. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella and the parmesan cheese. Cover with foil. Bake 45 minutes. Remove foil. Bake 15 minutes longer or until noodles are tender.
Let stand before cutting. Serve with reserved Sunday Sauce.
